2014 events

Sunday 17th February 2014

The first excursion of the year was to Valleyfield in New Norfolk, where Kate and Dick welcomed us and explained some of the interesting history  of the Valleyfield estate. We enjoyed our moring tea in the grounds of the homestead, in the shade of 19th century sandstone and brick buildings and huge old trees. We then enjoyed a walk around the extensive gardens which slope down to the banks of the Derwent River.

We then travelled to Molesworth to the Sally Wise ooking School where Sally and Bob welcomed us to their farmlet and cooking school, and provided some treats (scones, jam and cream, and freshly baked bread with zucchini pickle dip.We enjoyed lunch in the garden, in company with the dog, afamily of ducks and Doris the sheep.

Thank you to our hosts at Valleyfield and Molesworth for a wonderful day.See our photos from the excursion.
