MUWININA STORY INSTALLED
A story describing the Muwinina's living area around the school’s headland has been installed. You’ll find it attached to a dolerite boulder on the headland, overlooking the Derwent (see photo). Fabrication of the panel was funded by the High School, with the story written by Fiona Rice in collaboration with Aboriginal consultants Tony Brown (formerly TMAG) and Trish Hodge (Nita Education).

SUMMER WATERING TEAM THANKYOU!
A big big thankyou to those of you who were part of our watering teams caring for the last two years' seedlings over summer — Lyn Romeo and her Karingal Court neighbours (Rotary Park seedlings); Rod Hartridge (Pump Track seedlings); Gaynor Cherry (fire station seedlings); Janette Power and Nigel Richardson (soccer embankment seedlings), Malcolm l’Anson, Malcolm Rice and Louise Macintosh (high school foreshore seedlings).
It’s one thing to plant, but the follow up watering for the first two years, and weeding and bag maintenance, is always more challenging to keep on top of.
Thanks to Rod too for all the whipper snipping and weed chipping on the pump track embankment and elsewhere.
And enormous thanks to Malcolm l’Anson for single-handedly removing every single fennel plant from the entire high school foreshore (literally hundreds of plants!).
And to Ann Versluys for her ongoing cutting and pasting of woody weeds in Rotary Park. Rotary Park would be a very different piece of bushland without the passionate work of a few very dedicated people.

AGM INVITE - NEW IDEAS - NEW ENERGY
You’re all invited to our AGM, which will be held on Tuesday 29th March from 7-9pm at St Lukes Church Hall Taroona.  Our guest speaker for the AGM is Peter Stronach, the CEO of Landcare Tasmania. He’ll give us a quick run down of the work of Landcare across Tas, and then facilitate a visioning discussion for us about the future of TEN in the context of the work of Landcare statewide, looking at our own particular suburb, and the capacity of our volunteers. What should be our focus for the next 10 years?  (REFER AGENDA ATTACHED)
Every year all positions are made vacant. We’re looking for new people with fresh ideas and energy to join our ranks (as committee member, working bee attender, or taking on one-off specific tasks (such as creating a new website for us!). If you’d like to discuss coming onto the committee, please phone me. If you can’t make it to the AGM, we can arrange to get you a nomination form and present it on your behalf.
